Saanich Peninsula Cloverbuds
The Saanich Peninsula 4-H Cloverbuds Club started about ten years ago, and since then has been introducing six to eight year olds to various 4-H projects in a fun and interactive way. Learning about sheep projects by getting to touch and feel a real lamb, and making their own lamb craft out of a paint roller refill not only teaches about the animal, but lets them use their creative and fine motor skills.
Cloverbuds also get to learn various communication skills such as educational boards, judging and public speaking. This year over twenty Cloverbuds and their leaders explored goats, dogs, bike safety, clothing and swine!
If you are interested in joining next year we will be discovering sheep, outdoor living, poultry, beef and horticulture!! We start our year in January and run until October.
Call or email Laurie Maloney at 250-652-1869 or lcmaloney@shaw.ca for more information about becoming a Cloverbud today! You can also check out our blog to see some of the skills that we learn about and do! http://cloverbuds.blogspot.com/
We will also be having an information and registration meeting in December. Email to get put onto the list for more details!
